My perspective

The value of Personal Leadership
If we for a moment take a step back and consider our time in a broad perspective, it is clear that it offers a new set of challenges and opportunities. It is easy to see that we face more choices and impressions than ever before – and that these meetings happen at an accelerating pace.

This new age encourages us to search for, discover and implement new resources and solutions, both inside ourselves and in the world we live in. The field of personal leadership – which focuses on how we can lead ourselves through life in an optimal way given our own uniqueness – has therefore become more relevant and more important than ever to master.

To avoid drifting in a life direction that is not our own, get stuck in stress and loose our focus and wellbeing, we need to know ourselves and our resources at a deeper level. We need to find our own compass to navigate from, and we need to develop our ability to distinguish our innermost will and intuition from limiting and stressful thoughts, fears and worries. This practice is as important at work as in life in general, and it is the way towards balance, passion and fulfillment, or whatever it is we are looking for in our unique life situation.

The keys to success
My perspective on personal leadership is based on the belief that we all have access to greater inner resources than we can imagine, but that we sometimes need a trigger of some sort to be able to see and cultivate them within ourselves. This trigger can be a profound question and space for reflection, it can be an inspiring anecdote and a good laugh, or maybe a fresh perspective and a rejuvenating break from everyday life.

As soon as our will to grow have been triggered, I am convinced that positive change and development happens more effectively when we take one step at a time, rather than trying to make everyhthing happen at once. I also find this exciting process of growth smoother and more joyful, when we also access the curiosity and acceptance within ourselves. These are some of the core beliefs that I want to let shine through in my work and teachings.

To consciously decide to develop oneself and one’s personal leadership skills is a significant decision. A decision that will enrich the experience of life, create expanding ripples and open up new possibilities for the person that takes it. Whatever way you or your organization may choose to follow in this field of development, with the right intention and preparation, you have an exciting, creative and impactful experience to look forward to.
